(TORONTO): Renowned Paris boutique colette is pleased to announced that it has picked up the acclaimed ROOTS X DOUGLAS COUPLAND limited-edition clothing and accessory collection to sell in its store this September..

Canadian-based clothing retailer Roots recently collaborated with prominent writer and visual artist Douglas Coupland on a range of items from apparel, accessories, leather goods to design items, furniture and original art. Best known as the internationally bestselling author of “Generation X”, “All Families Are Psychotic”, “JPod” and for his art creations, this is the first time Coupland has designed fashion wearables.

"colette is at the cutting edge of modern culture, fashion, design, music and art, " says Coupland. "What an honour to be invited there to see the view -- and maybe also be a part of the view as well."

"We’ve had a great reaction to the collection from both our regular and new customers," says Don Green, Co-founder of Roots. "We are excited that our efforts have attracted the interest of colette and we’re looking forward to being sold in their shop."

The theme of the ROOTS X DOUGLAS COUPLAND collection is "Canada Goes Electric" and brings together Douglas Coupland’s recognizable artistic perspective with the Roots reputation for quality goods and craftsmanship.

"When I received an email from Douglas Coupland, I couldn’t believe it," says Sarah, creative director & buyer of colette. "When I saw he did this collection with Roots, I still couldn’t believe it. It’s too good to be true!!!"

The ROOTS X DOUGLAS COUPLAND collection is available only for a limited time in Canada at selected Roots stores, the flagship Roots store (100 Bloor St. W., Toronto) and online at
